Delgado Campaign Airs Video of Candidate’s Schenectady Roots on TV and Digital

Kingston, NY – Today, the Delgado for Congress campaign released an introductory video of Antonio Delgado, his roots in Schenectady and the upstate New York values that inspired him to run for Congress. The two-minute intro will be airing on digital platforms and New York and Albany cable systems.

“I’m a working class kid born and raised in upstate New York,” said Delgado. “My parents were employed at General Electric and knew that through hard work and dedication they could pull our family up into the middle class, and that’s what they did. Growing up the rules were simple: work hard, do your homework and go to church. The values my parents instilled in me growing up here are the same values that drive me to run for Congress — honesty, hard work and service. I believe that when you make a promise, you keep it.

Washington politicians like Congressman John Faso have shown that their priority is party leadership and the special interests that fund them rather than their constituents. The priority should always be the people you represent, like Andrea Mitchell, who asked Mr. Faso to not take away her health care. After he promised not to, he turned around and sided with Paul Ryan and insurance companies to do just that.

That will still stop when I’m in Congress because as a young man growing up in Schenectady and raised by working class, churchgoing folk, I was taught to be better. I am committed to the people of this region and to restoring integrity, honesty, decency and true representation to our politics.”
