COLUMBIA SHERIFF’S OFFICE EXECUTES SEARCH WARRANT TARGETING UPPER LEVEL HEROIN DEALER

 

 

Columbia County Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports that on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at approximately 10:30 pm, a search warrant was executed in the Town of Stockport and four local individuals were arrested.

On July 10, 2018, members of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbia-Greene Shared Response Team, New York State Police, Stockport Police Department, and New York State Parole executed a search warrant, which was signed by Columbia County Court Judge Jonathan Nichols, at 2870 Atlantic Avenue in the Town of Stockport.

During the execution of this warrant, 150 bags of heroin was located in the residence and seized, which has an approximate street value of $2,300. In addition, a quantity of crack cocaine was also seized.

As a result of this investigation, these four individuals were arrested:

Thomas Confer Jr., 35, of 2870 Atlantic Avenue Stockport, was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree-intent to sell (Class B Felony), one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree (Class C Felony), and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Class D Felony). The defendant was arraigned before Judge Brandon in Claverack Town Court and was remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail/ $40,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Stockport Town Court on July 16, 2018, at 7:00 pm.

Meagan Svida, 33, also of 2870 Atlantic Avenue Stockport, was arrested and charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Class D Felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor). Ms. Svida was also arraigned before Judge Brandon in Claverack Town Court and was remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail/ $10,000 bond. She will appear in Stockport Town Court on July 16, 2018, at 7:00 pm.

Charley Cintron, 39, also residing at 2870 Atlantic Avenue, was arrested on an outstanding Columbia County Family Court warrant. He was arraigned in Claverack Town Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $35,500 bail. He will appear in Columbia County Family Court at a later date.

Roger Delease Jr., 39, of 1360 State Route 82 Ancram, was arrested and charged with Loitering in the First Degree (Class B Misdemeanor). Mr. Delease Jr. was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Stockport Town Court on June 23, 2018, at 7:00 pm.

This investigation was initiated after receiving several complaints from the community regarding illegal activity at the location. These arrests are the result of more than a two-month long investigation conducted by members of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, N.Y.S. Parole and the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office

Sheriff Bartlett stated; “This investigation was a huge success largely due to the cooperation of all the agencies involved. As always we continue to aggressively target anyone spreading this poison throughout our community.
