DESCRIPTION: ...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...
...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 8 PM EDT
TUESDAY...
The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Heat
Advisory, which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 8 PM EDT
Tuesday.
* Location...the eastern Mohawk Valley, Hudson Valley, Capital
District, and Lake George Saratoga Region.
* Heat Index Values...up to 105 through this evening and 95 to 104
Tuesday due to temperatures in the upper 80s to mid 90s, and
dewpoints in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Low temperatures late
tonight in the upper 60s to mid 70s will provide only limited
cooling.
* Timing...Through Tuesday.
* Impacts...The combination of heat and high humidity may cause
heat stress or other heat related illnesses.

INSTRUCTIONS: An Excessive Heat Warning and Heat Advisory means that a
prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The
combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to
create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are likely.
Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned room...stay
out of the sun...keep track of pets and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
Take extra precautions...if you work or spend time outside. When
possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
To reduce risk during outdoor work...the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency...call 9 1 1.
