Two charged after contraband passed at the jail

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Matthew S. Moore (age 34 of Pine Plains) and Jeremy M. Craft (age 28 of Hyde Park) in connection with an investigation into the passing of contraband at the Dutchess County Jail.

On 6/15/18 Mr. Craft was an inmate at the Dutchess County Jail and was visited by Mr. Moore, at which time Mr. Moore is accused of passing a controlled substance to him.

At this time Mr. Moore has been charged with promoting prison contraband 1st degree and criminal sale of a controlled substance 5th degree (both felonies), and Mr. Craft has been charged with promoting prison contraband 2nd degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree (both misdemeanors). After being processed Mr. Moore was arraigned before the City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond, and Mr. Craft was released on an appearance ticket.

As with any criminal case the charges described above are merely accusations, and both Mr. Moore and Mr. Craft are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
