Wappingers Falls woman charged with welfare fraud

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Ann Marie Rosario, age 48 of Wappingers Falls, for welfare fraud stemming from a recent investigation.

An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division, in conjunction with the Investigations Division of the Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services, has revealed that Mrs. Rosario illegally obtained over $3,000 in SNAP benefits between June 2016 and Sept 2016 by allegedly concealing the fact that she had other outside income.

Mrs. Rosario was arrested on 6/21/18 and charged with Welfare Fraud 3rd degree, which is a Class D Felony. After being processed she was arraigned at the City of Poughkeepsie Court and released to reappear on 7/5/18.

As with any criminal case, the charge described above is merely an accusation and Mrs. Rosario is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
