Wappinger man arrested for making threats and menacing victims at the DMV

PRESS RELEASE
Wappiners Falls, New York – On June 18, 2018, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Barry A. Gutierrez, age 28, of Wappinger, for Making a Terroristic Threat, a class D felony, and Menacing in the 3rd degree, a class B misdemeanor.

On June 18, 2018, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Troopers were dispatched to the Department of Motor Vehicles on Marshall Road in the village of Wappingers Falls for a man with a gun.  An investigation revealed that Gutierrez was acting in a disruptive manner, alarming people at the DMV by implying that he was in possession of a gun, and was worse than a preschool shooter.

Gutierrez was arraigned before the village of Wappingers Falls Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.  Gutierrez is next scheduled to appear before the Court on June 21, 2018, at 2:00 p.m.
