Forty-One Students Receive Awards from DCC Teachers Union

 

May 11, 2018 – Dutchess United Educators (DUE), the teachers union of Dutchess Community College, honored 41 students for academic achievement at the 33rd Annual DUE Awards for Academic Excellence on May 2.

Twenty-six students were nominated by professors for individual DUE Awards, while 15 others received special awards, which are given by entire academic departments or in honor of past DCC faculty and staff members.

The 26 individual award winners were: Taylor Ball (Wassiac), Kayla Bowen (Pine Plains), Piedad Buceta (Poughkeepsie), Billie-Jo Buttner (Marlboro), Jacqueline Capra (Staatsburg), Christian Fronckowiak (Hopewell Junction), Fatima Gaye (Montgomery), Gian Graham (Newburgh), Elizabeth Kip (Wappingers Falls), Brianna Mastropolo, (Wappingers Falls), Adelta Mathurin (Bronx), Taylor McAuliffe (Hopewell Junction), Caroline McCormack (Poughkeepsie), Beven Nedumthakady (Poughkeepsie), Cora Oakley (Clinton Corners), Breanna Pileggi (Wappingers Falls), Inara Pimentel (Wappingers Falls), Maria Leon Sanchez (Wappingers Falls), Sirope Sirope (Monroe), Katie Jean Tate (Beacon), Jason Vail (Pawling), Matthew Williams (Fishkill), Stacie Woodard (Dover Plains), Xiang Feng Wu (Hyde Park), Henry Zhinin (Poughkeepsie) and Catherine Zimmerman (Ulster Park).

Special awards went to: Lauren Aldrich (Pleasant Valley), Ambar Arias (Poughkeepsie), Danny Bunyavong (Millbrook), Isabella Condorelli (Poughkeepsie), Shannon Knapp (Mahopac), Jessica Bruning Lopez (Poughkeepsie), Nicole McNamara (Poughkeepsie), Catherine Miller (Beacon), Leticia Preciado (Dover Plains), Sarah Remling (Clinton Corners), Alicia Rosado (Wingdale), Karen Rothdeutsch, (Hopewell Junction), Quayshaun Smith (Poughkeepsie), Gloria Vega (Beacon) and Stephanie Venuto (Poughkeepsie).
