Stanfordville, New York – On May 8, 2018, the New York State Police from Troop K arrested Terry Thompson, age 36, of Poughkeepsie, NY, for Robbery in the 2nd degree, a class C felony.

On August 7, 2017, the New York State Police began investigating a robbery at the Bank of Millbrook’s Stanfordville Branch, located at 11 Hunns Lake Road, in the Town of Stanford.  At approximately 1:13 p.m., a male subject entered the bank, displayed what appeared to be a handgun, and stole over $12,000 in cash. The suspect then fled the bank on foot, and reportedly got into a light-colored minivan parked down the road.

A nine-month investigation by the Troop K Bureau of Investigation eventually led to the identification a suspect, and later to his arrest.

Captain John Ryan stated, “Despite the lack of any strong leads early on, a tip received a few months later helped Investigator Michael Ramirez to develop Thompson as a possible suspect.”

Thompson was arraigned before the town of Pleasant Valley Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond to appear before the Stanford Court on May 11, 2018, at 10:00 a.m.
