Poughkeepsie – Carol A. Green, 79 of Poughkeepsie, NY died on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family. Caro was born on August 20, 1938, in Sharon, CT to the late Alfred and Sara Sinarbox LaLanne.
A local resident all her life, Carol was educated at Webatuck Schools. She was employed for 40 years with Dutchess County Mental Hygiene Support Services Division until her retirement in 1999. Carol was a member of PANT, the Neighborhood Watch and rescued stray cats. She was a loving and kind friend and a human angel who touched many people’s lives. Carol enjoyed eating out and was a fantastic mother and best friend who adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her daughter Kelly & husband James Skaarva of Bethany, CT, grandchildren Orlando James and Christopher George Skaarva, great grandchildren Brianna, Elysia, Kallianne, Orlando, her 4 cats, Smoothie, Picksy, Darleen, Booters and her daughter’s dog Zoey. She is predeceased by Joan LaLanne.
Calling hours are on Thursday, May 10, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at Amenia Island Cemetery, Amenia, NY.
