Obituary, Jennifer A. Szczechowiak

 

Jennifer A. Szczechowiak, 42, of Pawling, NY, formerly of North Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, April 18th, with her fiancé and family by her side at Lennox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, NY. Jen was born on October 15, 1975. She was the most beautiful, loving, kind, and energetic fiancé, daughter, sister, aunt and friend anyone could ask for.

Jen enjoyed biking the trails and mountains of the Hudson Valley, competing in marathons in NYC and Disney, and traveling to the many beaches along the East Coast and Mexico. She also enjoyed the shopping trips she took with her mother when she came home to Syracuse, baking, entertaining family and friends in her home, decorating, rooting on the Syracuse University Basketball team along with the NY Rangers hockey team and spoiling her two nephews.

She graduated from Cicero-North Syracuse High School and Onondaga Community College as well as attending Syracuse University. She was working on her bachelor’s degree in marketing at the State University of New York, Empire State College.

She was employed by Western Connecticut Health as a patient care advocate and formerly at the CV Group at North Medical Center where she met her fiancé.
Jennifer was predeceased by her maternal grandfather David Pickard (who adored her) along with her paternal grandparents Francis and Jane Szczechowiak.

Jennifer is survived by her loving fiancé Alessandro Nardone III, her parents Jerry and Karen (Pickard) Szczechowiak, sister Cari (Andy) Mascari, her nephews Logan and Brayden Mascari, maternal grandmother Helen Pickard, her in-laws, Alessandro and Judy Nardone, brothers-in-law Christopher and Robert Nardone, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 9:45 am on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 3401 Vickery Rd, Syracuse, NY, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Jennifer’s life at 11:00 am in The Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Syracuse. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday, April 23, 2018, at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
