KINGSTON – A Pawling man was committed to the Ulster County Jail after being arrested on the charges late Monday afternoon in lieu of $50,000 bail on felony charges of grand larceny and forgery after being arrested by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a county resident regarding fraudulent credit card activity over several months with about $12,000 worth of charges being placed on their credit card.

Police allege that Gregory Owens, 36, of Pawling allegedly removed a new credit card from the victim’s mail, activated it and used it as his own while concealing the credit card statements from the victim.

Owens was processed and arraigned in the Town of Rosendale Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail to appear at later date in the Town of Hurley Court.
