Connecticut man arrested for impersonating a police officer

PRESS RELEASE

Southeast, New York – On April 9, 2018, the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Robert T. Mclean Jr., age 54, of Waterbury, CT, for Possession of a Forged Instrument, a class D felony, and Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor.

On April 9, 2018, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Troopers initiated a traffic stop of a 2002 Mercedes Benz for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on Interstate 84 in the town of Southeast.  McLean was interviewed by the Troopers to whom he displayed a fraudulent Mount Vernon Housing Police shield, and forged police identification card.

McLean was arraigned before the town of Patterson Court, and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $3,000 bond.  McLean is next scheduled to appear before Patterson Court on April 19, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.
