Cortlandt woman arrested after escaping the custody of the Court

Cortlandt, New York –   On March 20, 2018, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Danielle Piamonte, age 25, of Cortlandt for Escape in the 3rd degree, and Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree, both class A misdemeanors.

On March 19, 2018, the New York State Police responded to the town of Cortlandt Court for a report of a suspect fleeing the custody of Court Officers.  At approximately 1:50 p.m., Piamonte fled the court house after being remanded to Westchester County Jail by the presiding town Justice.  Piamonte was at the court for proceedings related to her arrest in January 2017, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, both class A misdemeanors, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd degree, an unclassified misdemeanor.

Piamonte was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
