Southeast, New York – On March 20, 2018, the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Earl J. Allen, age 26, of Bronx, NY, for three counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument, class D felonies, Tampering with Evidence, a class E felony, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, both class A misdemeanors, Operating a Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.

On March 20, 2018, at approximately 2:10 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Interstate 84 in the town of Southeast for multiple violations of the vehicle and traffic law.  While interviewing the operator, Allen, a strong odor of marijuana was detected.  An investigation discovered approximately 4.2 grams of marijuana and fake driver’s licenses in Allen’s possession.  Upon discovery, Allen fled on foot on Interstate 84 throwing credit cards and personal checks from his person.  Allen was placed into custody without further incident a short distance from the vehicle.  A continued investigation found Allen was operating while impaired by drugs and he was subsequently arrested.

Allen was arraigned before the town of Southeast Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
