Students who are currently in the Tenth grade are eligible to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy, which will take place on the Mount Saint Mary’s College campus in Newburgh, New York from Sunday, June 24 through Thursday, June 28, 2018.

RYLA, is a globally run leadership program coordinated by local Rotary Clubs. This year, the Pawling Rotary Club will offer up to five full scholarships to Pawling High School tenth graders who will be entering the 11th grade in the fall of 2018. This opportunity offers these selected students an inspiring and diverse group of exceptional speakers and fun-filled workshop activities that build leadership skills. Students live on the Mount Saint Mary’s Campus throughout the four-day conference and make life-long friends as they engage in discussions that delve into many issues that are of interest and concern to them.

During the conference, participants will have the opportunity to explore the college application process with former RYLA attendees, as well as the Mount Saint Mary’s Admission Director. RYLA attendance has been shown to be an excellent credit to include on college applications.

The application for this year’s conference is now available.  Deadline for completion is May 1, 2018.  Additional questions may be addressed to Pawling Rotary member, John Ammaturo.  Please feel free to contact him directly at 845-855-3010.
