Geraldine Hein Jessup, 95, passed away at her home in Poughquag, NY on Saturday, March 17, 2018.
Born in McCamey, TX on August 28, 1922 she was the daughter of Albert and Ann (Reiger) Garrett.
A resident of Poughquag for 70 years, Geraldine took care of veterans in her home for 44 years. She cared for them with compassion and love, and felt it was an honor to care for them.
She is survived by her two sons, Edward G. Hein and her beloved daughter-in-law Rita of Poughquag and Paul K. Hein and his fiancé Lori Conner of Hyde Park; her daughter, Sharon E. Spears of Poughquag; six grandchildren, Matthew Hein and his wife Lisa, Russell Hein and his wife Chris, Lucas C. Ireland, Trevor A. Hein, Katrina Tasker, and Rachel L. Hein; four great-grandchildren, Sarah L. Hein, Lucas James Ireland, Brooklyn L. Hein, and Clara Hein; six step-children; several step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by two husbands, Edward L. Hein and Calvin Jessup, five brothers, and four sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 12 noon at the Beekman Baptist Church, 1068 Beekman Road, Beekman, NY.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Geraldine’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
