WPWL Expands Broadcast Schedule

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Pawling, NY – March 18, 2018:  Pawling Public Radio Chairman, Bill Bonecutter is pleased to announce WPWL 103.7FM is adding seven new programs to the station’s current lineup. To accommodate the growing schedule, Bonecutter added that the live broadcast schedule is increased to 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.Monday through Friday.

The added programs are:

John Canavera – The Blue Olive Show, Sunday12:30-1:00 pm 

With a lighthearted conversational tone and mix of topics including; home cooking, family, culture, restaurants, olive oil, vinegar, community agriculture, wines and spirits, The Blue Olive Radio Show aims to discuss everything that touches food.

The Nick Kohomban Show, Tuesday 7:00-8:00 pm

Jumpstart your passion for music with Alternator — a fresh mix of the best and brightest artists in alternative music. Alternating between a myriad of genres and styles, host Nicholas L. Kohomban connects supposedly disparate artists and enumerates their unique qualities with the enthusiasm of a twelve-year old fan boy.

Andy Mallozzi’s Diner Jukebox, Sunday 10:30-11:30 am

Andy’s dedicates The Diner Jukebox to fans of rock n’ roll. He will be adding TV and radio jingles originally aired during the mid to late 50’s – 70’s as well as historical content and music. Mallozzi will talk about the artists, their record label and songs position on the charts.  Song requests are encouraged, and can be made during the live program via the Chat Messenger on www.PawlingPublicRadio.org.

John Ragusa, “I Had That,” Monday 4:30 – 5:00 pm

From Star Wars and Matchbox, to Barbie and Thunder Cats, “I Had That!” is a weekly broadcast focusing on the toys we all played with as kids.  Imperial Castle’s new business owner, John Ragusa will talk about different toy lines and the best (and worst) they offered on the weekly live broadcast.

Kara O’Neill, Hudson Valley Green, Tuesday, 4:30 – 5:00 pm

From green building design to sustainability, farm-to-table, arts and culture, agriculture, education and conservation to government projects – the list goes on and on.  There are so many great things going on in our own back yards. It is an exciting time to be living in the Hudson Valley, with lots of possibilities. Join Kara, the WPWL crew, and her guests to learn more.

Melanie Payne, Dog Tales, Tuesday4-4:30 pm

Training dogs professionally was serendipitous. Marlene Payne had a dog with aggression issues and discovered one of the most respected trainers and breeders was living near her in Connecticut. During one of the training session, she got hooked. What John taught Melanie is not written in any obedience books, but works like magic. Melanie will share the lessons learned over 20 years ago from her trainer, John, and much more.

PPR Live! Third Thursday of every month 8-10 pm

The Music Hall Showcase has gone through a complete revamp and name change.  Broadcasting live from the WPWL Rauch Studio, PPR Live presents a live two-hour concert featuring two bands performing on the station’s own in-studio backline. As a show of gratitude to the community members, whose generous contributions of instruments and equipment have made this new in-studio format possible, the station is opening its doors to the community. Everyone is encouraged to attend a free monthly concerts at the studio, or listen by streaming via www.PawlingPublicRadio.org.
