Man and woman arrest for drug possession after a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway

PRESS RELEASE

 

Stanford, New York – On March 15, 2018, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Shyrelle J. Goines, age 27, of Pittsfield, MA, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, an unclassified misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance in Non-original Container, a violation, and Damon A. Neal, age 37, of Queens, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Non-original Container, a violation.

On March 15, 2018, at approximately 10:45 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2017 Honda Civic on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Stanford for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  During the interview of Goines, it was determined her driving privileges in New York were suspended.  Continued investigation led to the discovery of approximately 3.9 grams of Lorazepram.

Both Goines and Neal were issued appearance tickets returnable to the town of Stanford Court on March 21, 2018, at 4:00 p.m.
