Brooklyn man arrested for Rape 3rd

The Troop F Child Abuse Unit in Sullivan County announces the arrest of Abraham Silverberg, age 51, from Brooklyn, NY for Luring a Child, (felony) Attempted Rape 3rd Degree (felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. (misdemeanor)
Silverberg, an employee at PS 116 in Manhattan, attempted to lure a teenager to a hotel in Sullivan County, NY for the purpose of engaging in sexual conduct. The investigation also revealed that Silverberg engaged in sexual conduct with a child less than thirteen years old while residing in Kings County. This information lead to a joint investigation with Troop NYC BCI in Brooklyn.
Silverberg was arraigned in the town of Thompson before Town Justice Martin Miller. He was remanded to Sullivan County Jail without bail. The charges in Kings County are pending at this time.
