Spaces Still Available for Math and Science Program for Girls

 

March 8, 2018 –Registration is open for the 22nd Annual “Math and Science Matter … Especially for Young Women” program that will be held Saturday, March 24. It offers hands-on workshops in science, technology, engineering and math developed by DCC faculty and is designed to engage girls in activities that highlight opportunities in those fields.

The day begins at 8:10 a.m. and runs through approximately noon. It is open to girls in grades 5-8. Registration is $10.

There are almost 20 workshops in all, including Adventures in Biotechnology, Fun With Chemistry, In Search of Fossils and more. Students may select up to three workshops on a first-come, first-served basis during online registration. Participating faculty come from the DCC departments of Mathematics and Computer Sciences; Physical Sciences, Engineering, Architecture and Computer Technology; History, Government and Economics, Allied Health and Biological Sciences and Performing, Visual Arts and Communications.
