Obituary, Ronald S. White

 

Poughkeepsie – Ronald S. White, 78, of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Sharon Hospital, Sharon, Connecticut. Born on September 2, 1939, in Danbury, CT, he was the son of Samuel E. and Maude Hoag White. Ron served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960 on the U.S.S. Ault. On April 10, 1961, he married Constance “Connie” Lonkey at the Gilead Presbyterian Church in Carmel, NY and she survives him at home.

Ron had worked for the NYS DOT as a Tree Pruner Supervisor in Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1994. Ron was a member of the Hogevenie Rod & Gun Club in Wingdale, NY. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and being outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife Connie, Ron is survived by his daughter Brenda (Max) Cudney of Dover Plains, NY, his granddaughter Jillian Cudney and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two sons; Donald in 1985 and John in 1978 and his brother Robert White in 2018.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018, from 4:00-8: 00 pm at  371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018, at 10:00 am in the Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the St. Denis Cemetery in Hopewell Jct., NY.
