Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. announces the appointment of Harry J. Tompkins III as Captain of Patrol for the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

Harry has served in law enforcement with the New York City Housing Police Department, the Town of Putnam Valley Police Department, the Village of Larchmont Police Department and the Westchester County Police Department. His 28-year career in law enforcement ranges from highway patrol and the motorcycle unit to detective of general investigations. As a detective, Harry was assigned to work with the NYC DEA and went on to oversee the Northern Westchester Narcotics Heroin Task Force where he worked in conjunction with the FBI, IRS, ATF and other local law enforcement agencies.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office welcomes Captain Harry J. Tompkins III to the team, and we are proud to have him serving our community.
