Vermont Man Arrested for Drugs After Traffic Stop

On February 2, 2018, at approximately 5:30 p.m., while on patrol on Route 52 in the Town of Carmel, Deputy Sheriff Christopher Irwin observed a black pickup truck, with Vermont plates, with a driver who was not wearing a seatbelt.

Deputy Irwin stopped the truck, and a subsequent investigation revealed that the operator, 49-year-old Kevin C. Dancy, of Dover Vermont, was in possession of a quantity of marihuana and the controlled substance Clonazepam.

Mr. Dancy was arrested and charged with the misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance in the 7th Degree, and the violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, he was also issued a traffic summons for no seatbelt.

Mr. Dancy is due to return to the Town of Carmel to answer the charges.
