Maine man arrested for DWAI drugs and illegal gun possession

Southeast, New York – On February 27, 2018, the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Adam P. Sokoloski, age 25, of Bridgton, Maine, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, Criminal Possession of a High Capacity Ammunition Clip in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a class E felony, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor.On February 27, 2018, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2006 Jeep on Interstate 84 in the town of Southeast for several vehicle and traffic infractions.  Upon interview of the operator, a strong odor of marijuana was detected.  An investigation found Sokoloski operated his vehicle while his ability was impaired by drugs.  Further investigation found a loaded .40 caliber Glock 23, a high capacity magazine, and over $3,500 in U.S. currency.

Sokoloski was arraigned before the town of Southeast Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
