Danbury man arrested for cocaine

Southeast, New York – On February 6, 2018, the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Jay Sanchez, age 30, of Danbury, CT, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony, Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 5th degree, a class B misdemeanor, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, an unclassified misdemeanor.

On February 6, 2018, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2014 Ford Escape on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  While interviewing the operator a strong odor of marijuana was detected.  Further investigation found approximately 30.2 grams of marijuana and 3.7 grams of cocaine.

Sanchez was arraigned before the town of Kent Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
