Obituary, Dolores Ann Colombo

Dolores Ann Colombo passed away at her home in Pawling, NY Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the age of 87.

A resident of Pawling for 14 years, previously of Holmes, Dolores was born in the Bronx on September 11, 1930, daughter of the late Anthony and Giovanini (Leggiadro) Melito.

Dolores was a self-employed seamstress, and loved spending time with her family; she especially enjoyed cooking and baking for them.  Dolores was dedicated to her family, a devoted wife to her husband Frank, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She loved her crafts from beading to quilting, starting from her schooling for dressmaking.  She used her skill all her life, from making children’s clothes to making & altering her family’s wedding gowns.

In addition to her parents, Dolores is predeceased by her husband, Frank, who passed away in 2006.

She is survived by her son John and his wife Debbie of Holmes; two daughters, Frances Colombo and her husband Peter Rock of Wappingers Falls and Lucille DaSilva and her husband Manuel of Pawling; her brother Anthony Melito, Jr. of Mahopac; her sister Josephine Duci of Port St. Lucie, FL; six grandchildren, Frank DaSilva, Elena Feroe, Amanda DeOlden, Thomas Leppert, Nicole Viscome, and Erica Colombo; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling Friday, February 2nd 6-9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 10 AM.  Burial will follow in Pawling Cemetery, Pawling.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dolores may be made to Lymphoma through the American Cancer Society or to the American Lung Association.
