Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. reports the arrest of a Danbury, Connecticut, woman who was a fugitive from justice in Connecticut.

On January 25, 2018, at approximately 7:07 p.m. Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy Daniel Meury was on patrol, and traveling on Route 22 in the Town of Southeast, when he observed a vehicle make a turn, without properly signaling, into the parking lot of Heidi’s Inn, located at 1270 Route 22.

Deputy Meury stopped the vehicle and after an investigation discovered that the driver, 56-year-old Philip J. Nichols, had a suspended driver’s license and the passenger, 42-year-old Dawn Anne Gonzalez, had a warrant, out of Danbury Connecticut, issued by the Connecticut State Superior Court.

Deputy Meury contacted the Danbury Police Department who confirmed that the State of Connecticut would extradite Ms. Gonzalez, who was wanted on two counts of Larceny in the Sixth Degree.

Ms. Gonzalez was arraigned on the Fugitive warrant before the Honorable Justice James F. Reitz of the Putnam County Court and was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility. She waived extradition and on January 29, 2018, was picked up by the Connecticut authorities and returned to Connecticut to face the Larceny charges.
