Amenia man arrested for rape and criminal sex act

Amenia, New York – On January 19, 2018, the New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks arrested Cresson T. Horton, age 34, of Amenia, for Rape in the 1st degree, and Criminal Sexual Act in the 1st degree, both class B felonies.
On January 19, 2018 Troopers received a complaint from a victim of rape. Investigators from SP Dover Plains began the investigation and determined Horton forced the victim to perform sexual acts. The victim was familiar with the defendant Horton.
Horton was arraigned before the town of Amenia Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. A full order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim and granted by the court.
