Obituary, Katherine Gallucci

Katherine Gallucci, a long-time resident of Poughquag, NY, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Delray Beach, Florida at the age of 85.
Coming to Poughquag from the Bronx in 1980, she was born in New York City on July 21, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Benza) Nicosia, who owned and operated Nicosia’s Bakery in the Bronx.  She worked as an administrative assistant for the N.Y.C. School District.
Katherine enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family and many friends.  She was an active member of the Beekman Senior Citizens Center and was a member of the Kings Point Italian American Club in Delray Beach, FL.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Generoso Gallucci who passed away May 11, 2008, her two brothers, Joseph and Michael, and a sister, Camille.
She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Gerard Gallucci of Newark, DE and Christopher Gallucci and his wife, Lisa, of New Fairfield, CT; a daughter, Maria Eyckmans and her husband, Robert, of White Plains, NY; and five grandchildren, Kristie and Robert Eyckmans and Alyssa, Christopher, and Andrew Gallucci.
Family and friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4-7 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Katherine may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
