New Poughkeepsie Cardiopulmonary Center Celebrates Grand Opening

Local dignitaries, community leaders, medical professionals and representatives from regional hospitals gathered Tuesday, Jan. 16 at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at River Valley (140 Main Street, Poughkeepsie) to celebrate The Grand Healthcare System’s grand opening of The Butch Anderson Cardiopulmonary Center. The 12-bed center offers those who have experienced a heart attack, bypass surgery, cardiac or lung surgery, or various other heart or lung disease complications, the latest in medical, nursing and therapeutic technology while focusing on the activities of living such as walking, dressing, assistive eating, and communication. The center is named in honor of longtime Dutchess County Sheriff Adrian “Butch” Anderson who underwent risky heart surgery at 38 and credits the role rehabilitation played in enabling him to get back on his feet and tackle life’s challenges. Gathered for the ribbon cutting are (L to R):  Dan Muskin, regional vice president, The Grand Healthcare System; Danielle Anderson; Dutchess County Sheriff Butch Anderson; Jacob Anderson; and, Joe Yurowitz, senior vice president, The Grand Healthcare System.
