Sharon Ann Pinckney Merrick, a resident of Murphy, NC and formerly of Pawling, NY, died on January 9, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, NC. She was 74.
Born in Connecticut on February 25, 1943 to John N. and L. Jeannette (Wheaton) Pinckney, she attended Carmel High School. She worked at Trinity Pawling School and retired after 40 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter Debbie Merrick of Pawling (and Garvin Brunow) and her son Philip Merrick and his wife Mary of Murphy NC; her grandchildren, Jamie Kelsey of Wingdale, Travis Merrick and his wife Sarah of Kerhonkson, Lindsey Merrick of Poughkeepsie, and Cassandra Merrick of Murphy, NC; four great- grandsons, Matthew and Ryan Jones of Wingdale and Greyson and Emmett Merrick of Kerhonkson; her two sisters, Patricia Hamilton of Lebanon, Ct and Dixie Silvestri and her husband Frank of Columbia, CT; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Gary Pinckney and her grandson, Scott Merrick.
A memorial service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
