Patchogue couple arrested for possession of cocaine in Pleasant Valley

PRESS RELEASE

Pleasant Valley, New York – On January 13, 2018 the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Michael R. Morea, age 39, and Samantha C. Morea, age 32, of Patchogue, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, a class D felony.  Michael Morea was also charged with the violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

On January 13, 2018, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Troopers observed a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling at speeds in excess of the legally posted speed limit on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Pleasant Valley.  A traffic stop was initiated and an odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside the vehicle.  Michael Morea admitted to possessing marijuana in the vehicle and further investigation revealed that the couple was in possession of cocaine.

Michael and Samantha Morea were arraigned before the town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.  Both are next scheduled to appear before the court on January 19, 2018, at 4:00 p.m.
