...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH
SATURDAY AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a

* Flood Watch for northwestern Connecticut, western Massachusetts,
  all of east central and eastern New York, and southern Vermont.

* From late Thursday night through Saturday afternoon.

* A combination of snow melt, heavy rainfall and potential ice
  jams may cause flooding on rivers and streams. Rainfall amounts
  of 1 to 2 inches are expected, with locally higher amounts
  possible.

* Rivers and streams could see locally fast and significant rises
  in vicinity of any ice jams.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
