…WINTER STORM WARNING IS CANCELLED…
* WHAT…Dangerously cold wind chills expected with wind chills from 15 below zero to 35 below zero. Areas of blowing and drifting of snow creating slippery road conditions and poor visibilities.
* WHERE…Litchfield, Berkshire, Columbia, eastern Dutchess and western Ulster counties.
* WHEN…Wind Chill Warning from 1 AM Friday to 7 AM Sunday.
Winter Weather Advisory until 6 PM Saturday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The dangerously cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 10 minutes to exposed skin. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold air and the wind will create dangerously low wind chill values. Frostbite can occur quickly and even hypothermia or death if precautions are not taken.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means periods of snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel difficulties.
