Obituary, Rosalie “Rosie” Killmer Abrams

 

 

Millerton – Rosalie “Rosie” Killmer Abrams, 82, an eleven year resident of Millerton, NY formerly of Littleton, NC passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017, at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT surrounded by her loving family.

Born October 3, 1935, in Germany, she was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Nickel) Klingzahn. After immigrating to the United States, she married Fred Killmer. Rosie was employed by the Lucky Platt Company, Pawling Rubber, and the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center. She later moved to Littleton, NC and was the proprietor of Ben’s Store with her husband Benjamin Abrams.

Rosie is survived by and will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Linda Lamay of Millerton and Susan Hibbard and her husband Larry of Danbury, CT; her grandchildren, Christopher Palmer and his wife Amanda of Knoxville, TN, James Flynn of Syracuse, NY, Alicia Palmer of Queensbury, NY and Josh Hibbard of Danbury, CT and two great-grandsons, Tyler Palmer and Alex Swale. In addition to her parents, Rosie was predeceased by both husbands and her son-in-law Bruce Lamay.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Sharon Hospital for the excellent care that was given to Rosie in her final days.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2017, from 2-4pm at  37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. Funeral services will follow at 4 pm at the funeral home. Pastor William Mayhew will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 178, 155 Route 44, Millerton, NY 12546 or Sunday in the Country Food Drive, P.O. Box 789, Millerton, NY 12546.
