Drug Arrest in Hudson

On Monday, December 12, 2017, the Hudson City Police Department, Columbia County Sheriff’s Department, and the New York State Police with the assistance from the Columbia- Greene Shared Services Response Team executed a search warrant at an apartment located on Parkwood Blvd and at a home located on Fairview Ave., both located within the City of Hudson, New York.

The Search Warrants were signed by Columbia County Court Judge, Judge Richard Koweek and they were based on active drug investigations with the City.

Two subjects were arrested during the course of the drug operation. 24 year old, Justin N. Campbell, of Hudson, New York was arrested for Criminal Possession Marihuana 2nd Degree, a class D felony and Criminal Possession of a weapon 4th Degree, a class A misdemeanor. Also, Antonio L. Velez , 21 years old, of Hudson New York, was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a class B felony. He is a NY State Parolee, having a prior conviction for Burglary.

Justin Campbell was located inside the residence and was found to be in possession of over one pound of marijuana (over a pound), more than $5000.00 dollars in cash, a shotgun with ammo, and a large amount of pills (controlled substance). Antonio Velez left the residence by vehicle just prior to the search warrant and was stopped by police. Antonio Velez was found to be in possession of 35 individual small baggies of heroin. Both subjects were transported to the Hudson Police Department for processing.

On December 12, 2017 both subjects were arraigned at the Hudson City Court by Judge Herman. Antonio Velez had bail set in the amount of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond and the case was made returnable in Hudson City Court on December 14, 2017 at 8:30am. Justin Campbell had bail set in the amount of $1,000 cash or $1,000 bond and the case was made returnable in Hudson City Court on the same date and time.

On December 12, 2017, New York State Parole issued a Parole Warrant for Antonio Velez for Parole violations.

This was a multi-agency drug operation involving the City of Hudson Police, New York State Police, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, DEA of New York, Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the Columbia Greene Shared Services Response Team, New York State Parole and the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.

This drug investigation is still on going and additional charges are pending.
