Stormville man arrested for Drugs, felony Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle

Members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of Dariush Moazami, 28, of Stormville, NY. Mr. Moazami was charged with the felony of Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree and the misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, and several traffic violations.

On December 5, 2017 at approximately 11:10 PM, deputies observed a motor vehicle traveling on Broadway in the Town of Esopus in excess of ninety miles per hour. Deputies were able to successfully stop the vehicle and identified Mr. Moazami as the operator. Through investigation, deputies located crack cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Additionally, deputies determined Mr. Moazami’s license was suspended and he was operating the vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Mr. Moazami was arraigned in the Town of Esopus Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 secured bond.
