Corinne Teresa Dwyer, 90, of Millerton, NY and Fort Meyers, FL passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2017 in Herscher, Illinois after a lengthy illness. Born in New Haven, CT on September 12, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Leo and Leonilda (Sebastionello) Hibson. She was a graduate of the University of Connecticut. Her greatest joy and accomplishment was her family. She spent most of her time as a homemaker but also excelled as a baker and enjoyed running her own shop as well as selling baked goods in New York City–she was known for having the best cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies around! Her love of children extended to her volunteering in the local school, reading to sick children in the hospital, and working as a substitute teacher after her own children were grown. An avid reader and gardener, she was always busy either recommending a great book or puttering in the garden with her day lilies.
She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Edward Dwyer, as well as their daughter, Leonilda. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Thomas McFadden. She leaves behind a sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Thomas Wade of Cape Coral, FL, and a brother, Leo Hibson of Tampa, FL. Corinne was the loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her eight children and their families; William Dwyer of Guilford, CT and Fort Meyers, FL, Eileen and Michael Liverani of Shokan, NY and Myrtle Beach, SC, Richard and Deborah Dwyer of Dublin, OH, Edward III and Linda Dwyer of Vancouver, BC, Canada, Molly Ann and Ron Hesser of Herscher, IL, Angela Dwyer of Drums, PA, Barbara Dwyer of Marshfield, MA, and Theresa Dwyer and Michael Toomey of Essex Junction, VT. Grandchildren include Shawn Dwyer and Haley Lutar of Guilford, CT, Melissa Dwyer and Richard Piche of North Branford, CT, Kathryn and Edward Murray of Staten Island, NY, Michael and Diana Liverani of Shokan, NY, Brandon and Alison Morris of Worthington, OH, Jessica and Bryan Viccaro of Rochester, NY, Bridget and Peter MacKinnon of Harrogate, England, Kevin Dwyer of Casio, ME, Johanna Hatch and Even Creed of Verona, WI, Edward and Sarah Hesser of Reading, PA, Marguerite Frazier of La Crosse, WI, Patrick Hesser of Herscher, IL , Jaqueline Goulstone of Providence, RI, Claire Toomey of Essex Junction, VT and Olivia Toomey of Essex Junction, VT. Her great grandchildren are Stella and Olivia Piche, Leo and Josephine Murray, Kahlan and Connor Liverani, Ella, Nora, and Lydia Morris, Charles, Eva, and Georgia MacKinnon, Siena Viccaro, and Liam and Aurora Creed.
Calling hours will he held on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 5-8 pm at 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony’s Church, 68 Poplar Avenue, Pine Plains, NY. Rev. R. Kent Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow at Irondale Cemetery, Millerton, NY.
