NEW YORK, N.Y. – For the second time this season junior Katia Aaron (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) and sophomore Stephen Kelleher (Poughquag, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) of the Maritime swimming team were named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll for the fourth week of the 2017-18 season.

For both Aaron and Kelleher, it was their second appearance of the season on the weekly honor roll. Aaron was also named the women’s swimming Swimmer of the Week on November 6, while Kelleher also earned Swimmer of the Week accolades on November 6.

Aaron re-set her own program record with a time of 12:10.18 in the 1,000 freestyle on Friday against Sarah Lawrence and St. Joseph’s (LI). In addition to her record-setting time she also had a first place finish in the 500 free with a 5:52.92. Earlier in the week she scored wins in the 200 individual medley with a 2:34.75 and also had a win in the 500 free with a 5:59.27. At the Merchant Marine Invitational on Saturday, she competed in the 200 IM and took 12th place with a 2:36.52, while also scoring a 2:43.24 in the 200 butterfly and a 2:19.91 in the 200 freestyle.

Kelleher cruised to a first place finish at Old Westbury in the 1,000 free with a time of 11:12.83, and followed that with a first place result in the 500 free at 5:32.35. On Friday at Sarah Lawrence, he improved both of his times with an 11:07.74 in the 1,000 free and a 5:29.14 in the 500 free.  He closed out the weekend with a vast improvement in the 500 Free with a 5:07.79; while also competing in the 400 individual medley with a 4:48.02, as well as the 200 freestyle and recording a time of 1:57.34.

The women’s and men’s swimming teams will be off until Friday, December 1, when the team returns from the holiday weekend and travels to Mount St. Mary for a key Skyline Conference dual meet with the Mount St. Mary Knights beginning at 6 p.m. from the Kaplan Center Pool.
