State Police Investigate fatal collision on State Route 9 near Gold Harvest Farms

Kinderhook, New York – On November 16, 2017, the New York State Police investigated a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on State Route 9 in the Town of Kinderhook in the area of Golden Harvest Farms.

Initial investigation reveals Preston H. Schrader, age 86, of Claverack, made a left-hand turn onto State Route 9 from a parking lot exit and struck a northbound vehicle.  Schrader was transported to Albany Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.

The State Police were assisted on scene by Niverville Fire Department, Valatie Rescue Squad, and Greenport Rescue Squad.  SP Livingston Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Troop K Collision Reconstruction continue to investigate the cause of this collision.
