Obituary, Marion Elizabeth Agne

Patterson – Marion Elizabeth Agne, 69, of Patterson, NY passed away on October 28, 2017. She was a nurturing mother to three loving children; Deborah Hendrie, Michelle Harris, and Matthew Agne, and a proud grandmother to six cherished grandchildren; Ryan, Megan, Shauna, Aaron, Shayne, and Landon. She also had a fourth child, William Jr., who passed away at birth (February 10, 1971). Marion was born on October 29, 1947 to Charles and Charlotte Grace (Miller) Hargreaves in Yonkers, NY. She married the love of her life, William Raymond Agne on February 11, 1968 at Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church in Yonkers, NY. Her husband, William, was a respected and principled man and loving father who rose to the rank of Captain in the Yonkers Fire Department. Marion was a bottomless spring of unconditional compassion and support – generous with her time and comforting in her way of understanding. Prior to retiring five years ago, Marion had worked within the North Salem Central School District so that she could be close to family. She had served for a time as President of her Bus Driver’s Union and had participated on a bowling league and softball league. More recently, Marion enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and with friends from her Seniors Group of whom she always spoke fondly. She was also a formidable opponent in any recreational card game. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Marion is survived by her two brothers; David Hargreaves and Charles Hargreaves Jr. Marion faced life with an unbreakable spirit and unwavering faith. Our sadness in losing Marion is eased only by our faith that she and her husband William are reunited together for eternity. A memorial service for Marion will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00am – Croton Falls Community Church – 609 Route 22 Croton Falls, NY 10519.
