Greenport, New York – On November 7, 2017, the New York State Police assisted by the Columbia County District Attorney Paul Czajka’s Office, Greenport Police Department, and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Jessica I. McEwan, age 39, of Claverack, NY, for Assault in the 1st Degree, Burglary in the 1st Degree, both Class B Felonies, Assault in the 2nd Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, both Class D Felonies.

On November 7, 2017, at approximately 1:50 PM, Troopers responded with Greenport PD and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office to Healy Blvd in the Town of Greenport for an assault in progress.  Investigation revealed McEwan entered a dwelling where an altercation ensued between several parties known to each other.  A male and female victim both suffered stab wounds. The female victim was transported to Albany Medical Center in critical condition. The male victim was treated on scene and released.
McEwan was later apprehended by Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Deputies at her residence in Claverack.
McEwan was arraigned before the Town of Greenport Justice Court and remanded without bail to the Columbia County Jail
