Obituary, Alice M. (Booth) Filippini

 

Pine Plains – Alice M. (Booth) Filippini , age 97, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born in Binghamton, NY on November 7, 1919, to Clifford and Alice (Palmer) Booth. She was one of six children

After graduating early from high school at age 16, Alice attended SUNY Delhi where she met her husband, James Filippini. They were married on September 10, 1938 and built their home and raised five children in Pine Plains, NY.

Alice worked as an aide at PPCS and then in the business office for many years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing cards, reading, puzzles, going to the casino, outdoor concerts, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters; Judith Ann (William) Fino, C. James Filippini, and Errol F. Filippini all of Pine Plains; Nancy M. Bryant of Canaan, CT and Karl F. (Sally) Filippini of Tucson, Arizona. Also 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her husband, James; two sisters, Kathleen Perkins and Frances Walden; three brothers Curtis Booth, George Booth, and Robert Booth; a daughter-in-law Janet Filippini, and 1 great grandchild.

There are no calling hours, graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 4th, 2017 at Evergreen Cemetery, 50-52North Main Street in Pine Plains at 12 noon.
