Pine Plains – M. Virginia Saunders, 74, a thirty year resident of Pine Plains, NY formerly of Millerton, NY died Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY following a long illness. Virginia was Community Care Provider for the Disabled American Veterans at her home in Pine Plains for twenty eight years prior to her retirement.
Born December 21, 1942 in Rhinebeck, NY she was the daughter of the late Basil and Minerva (Wilkens) Kilmer. She attended and graduated school locally and was an avid cook and baker and enjoyed sewing and reading and doing crafts in her spare time. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
Virginia is survived by four children, Elaine Palmieri and her husband Bob of New Hampshire, Karen Klippel and her husband Bill of Millerton, Ronda Murphy and her husband Paul of Pine Plains and Francis J. Saunders and his wife Heather of Johnstown, two grandchildren; Bobby Palmieri, Jr. of New Hampshire and Sara Murphy of Pine Plains, two great grandchildren; Logan and Miles of New Hampshire and several siblings, nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Alexandra Palmieri.
There are no calling hours. A private Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Burial will be private in Millerton.
