Two Connecticut men arrested for DWI, a Stolen License Plate, and Drug Possession

Southeast, New York – On October, 14, 2017, the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested two Connecticut men.  Tyler Potenziani, age 22, of Danbury CT, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5^th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7^th Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2^nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, all Class A Misdemeanors, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Disorderly Conduct, a Violation and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations.  Jovanny Gutierrez, age 35, of Waterbury CT, for a Violation of Criminal Procedure Law, Failing to Surrender to a Bench Warrant, a Class B Misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7^th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Disorderly Conduct, a Violation.

Troopers on patrol observed a vehicle in violation of several traffic infractions and conducted a vehicle and traffic stop.  Investigation found the Connecticut plate to be stolen and the vehicle unregistered.  Potenziani and Gutierrez were found to be in possession of a small amount of cocaine, and rolled United States currency one dollar bills containing cocaine residue.  Potenziani provided a breath sample that showed his blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.  Gutierrez additionally was wanted by the New York City Police Department for an active Bench Warrant.

Potenziani was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets and Appearance Tickets returnable to the Town of Southeast Justice Court on November 2, 2017, at 1:00 PM.  Gutierrez was arraigned before the Town of Southeast Justice Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.  Gutierrez is next scheduled to appear before the Town of Southeast Justice Court on November 16, 2017, at 1:00 PM.
