Obituary, Arlene Hall Iuliano

Amenia – Arlene Hall Iuliano,91, of Route 22, died October 13, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late John Iuliano who died in 1961.

Arlene was born April 13, 1926 in Michigan, the daughter of the late Clifford and Dorothy Hall. She moved to Amenia as a child, graduated from Amenia High School and went on to earn an advanced degree in Nursing and an Associate degree in Business. She worked as a nurse at Sharon Hospital and went on to become a long time Team Leader at the Wassaic Developmental Center until her retirement in 1991.

She was heavily involved in the town of Amenia over the years as Councilwoman, Supervisor, a member of many Town committees and boards, the Historical Society, the Grange, and was Town Historian at the time of her death. She was very dedicated to the Town of Amenia and Dutchess County and was honored as Amenia’s Citizen of the Year in 2008.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses: Joyce LaRowe (husband Verne) of Valatie, NY, Daniel Iuliano (wife Rebecca), of Hudson, NY, Joan Woodward (husband Alan) of Hyde Park, NY, Cristine Jarrett (husband Juan) of Athens, GA, Joseph Iuliano (wife Jill) of Waltham, MA. She also has 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren of whom she was very proud and loved very much.

Calling hours will be held at 41 Main Street,  Sharon, CT on Tuesday, October 17th from 4-7 PM. All other services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Dutchess County Historical Society, 549 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 or The Hospice of Dutchess County, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
