PATTERSON – The head-on crash on Route 22 in Patterson Monday morning around 6:20 a.m. claimed the life of Luis Alberto-Arpi, 56, of Ossining.
At a jeep suv driven by Damiana Mackoon, 47, of Patterson was attempting to pass a tractor-trailer in the southbound lane in front Thunder Ridge and hit head-on into Arpis oncoming minivan. Luis Alberto-Arpi, 56 died at the scene. Mackoon was transported by ambulance to Danbury Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. Assisting the Putnam Sheriff’s Office with the accident were Dutchess County Sheriff’s deputies, the Pawling Fire Department, members of the Patterson and Putnam Lake Fire Department.
