Pine Plains, NY – Lester Funk Jr. 93, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Renaissance Nursing Care Center in Hyde Park, NY.
He was born on May 10, 1924 in Gallatin, NY the son of the late Lester and Mary (Coons) Funk Sr.
He was owner, trainer and driver of Lester Funk Stables. A harness racing business. He retired in 2000.
On July 8, 1944 in Stanfordville, NY he married Gloria “Jean” Dillinger Funk. She predeceased him on August 1, 2013.
Survivors include two sons, Lester and his wife Sandra Funk III of Pine Plains, NY; Gary and his wife Karen Funk of Pine Plains, NY; three grandsons, Lester IV, Daniel and Randy; nine great grandchildren, one great great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
