Join us for the Carmel Café on Wednesday, November 1 to share your thoughts, ideas and hopes for the future of our students. Choose from 2 sessions:  9:00-10:45am at Carmel High School in Casey Hall or 7:00-9:00pm at Kent Elementary School. CALENDAR NOTE:  An early dismissal drill will take place today, Friday, October 6.  All schools will be dismissed 15 minutes earlier than regular dismissal time.
CHS National Honor Society is conducting a tie dye and hair wrap booth at the CHS concession stand on Friday, Oct. 13 from 3-8pm (before the home football game). Proceeds will assist LiliaSophia, a 5-year old girl born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, to assist with medical bills. Rain date is Oct. 20. Once again this year, the Putnam County Department of Health will offer influenza vaccine clinics in our schools. These immunizations will be provided at no cost to children who attend our schools and to staff. Information and consent forms will be sent home next week. The form, as well as a schedule of clinics can also be found on our website.

Underclass and Staff pictures are scheduled for October 23 and 24.The re-take day is December 1 in Casey Hall.

CHS Homecoming 2017 — Friday, October 6 &Saturday, October 7:
  • Friday, October 6 – Bonfire at George Fischer Middle School, 6:30-9pm.Cheer for your favorite fall athlete at our traditional bonfire, complete with fireworks! This is NOT a drop-off event! Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult, and everyone must be picked up by 9:00pm.
  • Senior Recognition – Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1:45pm. Families of all senior, fall varsity athletes are invited to take the traditional stroll through the arch on the CHS field before the Homecoming game.
  • Football game – Rams v. Spring Valley – Saturday, Oct. 7 at 3:00pm. A great community afternoon of football. Have a snack at the new concession stand, join in the National Anthem performed by CHS Music students. CHS and CRYFaC Cheerleaders will perform between 1st and 2nd quarters. Half time show by the Carmel Varsity and JV Cheerleaders and performances by the Varsity Dance Team and the Carmel Twirlers.
PSAT Day Schedule for Wednesday, October 11:  Period 6–10:59-11:40; Period 7–11:44-12:24; Period 8–12:28-1:08; Period 9–1:12-1:50.
 
Used Clothing Drive, sponsored by the CHS Boys Soccer team, October 21 from 10am to 3pm at GFMS. Clothing, household items, accessories and toys accepted. Put all items in well tied trash bags.  No books/CD’s VHS tapes, kitchen appliances, outdoor toys or furniture.

The CHS Drama Club presents “The 39 Steps” on October 27 and 28 at 7:30pm with a special matinee on Oct. 28 at 2pm at CHS in Casey Hall. This thrilling tale is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters, vaudeville routines and some good old-fashioned romance! KPS NEWS
KidStuff Coupon books are due now! Please send the book back to school via your child’s backpack or keep it and send a check in the given envelope for $25 to KPSPTO.
 
The Fall catalog fundraiser came home in your child’s backpack. Return your order by October 19.
 
School Store is now open every Friday (while school is in session) from 12-2pmfor grades 1-4. $5 maximum.
 
Picture Day is October 13Order forms are personalized and in your child’s backpack. Directions for online orders are included. The 4th grade group picture will be on November 9.
The 8-week Aviator Enrichment Program begins October 13. Minimum of 8 students needed. Space is limited. Open to grades K-4 after school. Find the registration form in your child’s backpack and on Peachjar.
Spooky Spectacular is on October 206-8pm. Bouncy slide, DJ, food/drinks, crafts, contests, games and more. Register your family for the scarecrow contest too. Registration is $5 by October 11. Tickets sold at the door for $10. Space is limited. Grades K-4. Registered family names will be at the door. Find the Forms in your child’s backpack and on Peachjar.

Putnam County Youth Bureau Pegasus Program begins on Oct. 12 from 6-7:30pm at the Putnam Co. Youth Bureau.
