Elizabeth Edith Stossel, 84, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY, died on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at her son’s home in Amenia. Mrs. Stossel was the head of security at Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, NY for many years.
Born on August 30, 1933 in Farmingdale, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Emily (Cuton) Hopp. She is survived by her son, Gary Stossel and his wife, Katrina, of Amenia, NY and her daughter, Donna Renosis of Massapequa, NY. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stossel was predeceased by her two sons, Gregory and Michael Stossel and a sister, Emma Decker.
Graveside services and burial will take at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Valley View Cemetery, S. Nellie Hill Road, Dover Plains, NY with Rev. Zora Ficarra-Cheatham officiating.
